Intermediate Hurling Championship (A)
Sat. Aug. 24th 2024.

Blackrock 1 – 17V Erins Own 2 – 18 @ Shanbally.

Report:  Roger ryan

Playing with a strong wind in the first half, Erins Own made full use of the advantage to build up a nice lead of 10 points to end the half on a score of Rockies 0 – 08, Erins Own 2 – 12. Our boys did well to stay in the game and managed to score 8 points. Despite outscoring Erins Own by 1 - 09 to 0 – 06 and upping their performance considerably in the second half, our boys failed to claw back the halftime deficit of 10 points and so lost out by 4 points on a final score of Rockies 1 – 17, Erins Own 2 – 18. Robert Cregan and John O'Sullivan tried valiantly to score goals but on each occasion their goalie Tom Dillon came to their rescue with some outstanding saves. The goal which we so badly needed arrived late in the game when Tadhg Deasy converted a penalty.
