Championship Draws 2011

The 2011 Senior and Intermediate draws have been made. The seniors will face Douglas while the Intermediates face Kilworth in the first round of the Championship.

Servasport  Ltd., a Belfast based company that develops and maintains the GAA membership database, has  issued an unreserved apology to the GAA and to our members.

Indoor Soccer Champions

 

After 7 weeks,over 20 matches, and 4 footballs stuck in the rafters, Team 1 took home the title of Rockies 2010 Indoor soccer champions. The competition was well attended with over 40 Blackrock adult hurlers taking part during October to December.

Congratulations to Team 1 members:  Mikey Aherne (c), Derek Gosnell, Gary Norberg, Paul Bennett, Aonghus Ó Driscoll, Tomás Walsh and Alan McGee. 

Particular praise must go to Kevin O'Keeffe, Chris Aherne and Eoin Hickey who were always ready to stand in for teams on short notice.

Great Weekend at the Club Bar

A great time was had by all in the club bar over the weekend with a number of big events drawing the crowds. A very successful charity night for Marymount Hospice was held on Friday night which was well attended.

On Saturday, the players had their Christmas Party. The Fireflies provided the music for the night and a number of prizes were raffled off. The players would like to thank everyone who donated prizes for the night. Blackrock Hair Studio, Denis Dineen Crash Repairs and Munster Rugby were amongst the prize givers.

On Sunday, the Rockies Fancy Dress and caberet night was a huge success with music from Don Field and a number of top class cabaret acts. Temperatures were raised amongst the female members of the audience during a certain club committee member's performance of Elvis Presley's hits.
